The Penworks, and so does the camera

We’re pleased to share the results of our recent photoshoot at The Penworks; and we’re really chuffed with the shots as they really do capture the quality of our latest development of student accommodation in Birmingham.

The Penworks opens later this year, in time for the 2013/14 academic year and will offer 282 ensuite rooms across a mixture of shared apartments and individual studio rooms.

Rooms are available to book online now, and prices and availability are available on our main website.

The Penworks – Our Latest Student Rooms Development in Birmingham

Work has begun on our latest student rooms development in Birmingham, The Penworks.

Open in time for the start of the 2013/14 academic year, The Penworks will offer 282 en-suite bedrooms ranging from individual studio rooms to shared clusters of 4 to 6 bedroom apartments.

All rooms at The Penworks student housing have en-suite bathrooms, and will be available as individual studios or in clusters of 4 to 6 bedroom flats.

The Penworks is located close to our existing Studios 51 accommodation,  extremely close to Aston University and ideal for many of the other higher education facilities in the Birmingham area.

More details will be available on our website and on this blog through the following months.

#51Reasons – The Final Round Up

So the final week of our #51reasons started less with a bang and more with a very tenuous reason (we were struggling at the end!) but what we believe to be a nice little quirk to our service…

We sign for all  your parcels and keep them in the office for you – how’s that for customer service? And a lot of our tenants like the fact that with us you get a real key rather than a plastic swipe card – it feels more like a proper home to them so it made it in to the list at reason number 49. And to add to our slightly obscure reasons to live at Studios 51, reason number 48 tells you that you can live in an old pen factory. The building is actually over a hundred years old and used to make pens with many of the period features of the building still evident.

Back to the more concrete reasons to live here, we do believe we provide a good service and we often have many people who re-book with us – if you do this there are offers and discounts to help out. As a company we also aim to listen to the concerns of our tenants and their families and care for our tenants.

While we did have some odd reasons in the last week we saved two of the best for last as well. Studios 51 is a quiet halls of residence ideal for Postgraduates and later year students looking to get their heads down and study and is provided with absolutely no hidden costs.

If you’ve been following the campaign, thank you! Maybe if you’d like to add some of your own reasons you could post them on Facebook, here on the blog or tweet them to us. Don’t forget you can still book for 2012/13 academic year. Call us on 0121 333 5792, visit us in the office or send us a message.

The #51Reasons Weekly Round Up…

So we start our penultimate #51reasons blog post by letting you know that there are still a few rooms remaining to be moved into now for the 2012/2013 academic year. Contact us on 0121 333 5792, or send us an email for more information…or just pop in to view the rooms!

And here are the reasons why you should book with us as tweeted this past week.

Don’t forget we are a new company trying to provide student accommodation differently; in what we think is the best way possible! Reasons 38 and 39 spoke to our mantra – The Student Housing Company wants to raise your expectations about student accommodation, we want renting a room from us to be easy and we want you to feel safe and comfortable in your new home.

We are also proud members of the ANUK/Unipol National Code of Standards. This code sets standards by which large developments have to adhere to and we are an active member – shaping the direction of the code as well as adhering to it strictly. It is also worth mentioning Reason No. 43 here that our on-call service is staffed by your fellow students who live in the building and have been trained by us to deal with any issues.

We are also active on social media, shown by this campaign on Twitter and Facebook but we are also on Foursquare - where mayors win prizes and if you’re reading this blog you don’t need to be told about Reason No.42 which tells you that we have students write blog posts about our student accommodation!

We have a number of small shops nearby including a petrol station just across the road which stocks essentials and from many of our upper floors you can see those shops as they have views across the city!

Hopefully we’ll see you soon for a viewing, if not, talk to you next week.

Studios 51 – Weekly Round Up (#51Reasons)

Firstly, my apologies as I missed reason 28 off the last post!

All of our kitchens here come stylishly fitted with hob, combi microwave/oven and fridge freezer. And you can enjoy the kitchen in a studio with high ceilings and big windows; very unusual for student accommodation where space is often at a premium; because of this our studios feel very spacious. We also have a private launderette with plenty of machines for our students and bike storage which many people take advantage of!

Reasons 30 and 31 go into more about our ideal location. Birmingham Snow Hill railway station is close by for all local rail links and more importantly for BCU students we are ideally placed for anybody studying at the North or City Centre campuses. We are a short bus ride up the A41 from Perry Barr and BCU’s North campus. It’s pretty much a straight road up to the campus and a short walk in the other direction through the Aston campus will bring you to Millennium Point and the City Centre campus. More info on our location available on our website.

We also have an on-site management team here during office hours to cater to your needs in addition to our on-call service mentioned in reason 10. We also have secure access, electronic entry to the building as well as 24 hour CCTV on the premises.

Finally one of our big advantages is our booking system. It doesn’t involve any paper! Agree your contract and pay online!

Bye for now….
